India skipper Virat Kohli admitted that "precise" England were too superior for his team in the first T20 match of a three-match series on Thursday.
It's the second Twenty20 global of a three-match series between India and England that ends a tour of five Tests and three ODIs.
India managed a single six in their innings yet after 14 balls of England's reply they had already managed two.
They managed to hit big scores, over 300 in both of the first two matches but it just wasn't enough as Virat Kohli went insane, leading the charge for India to get over the line and wrap up the series with a match to play.
"The opposition can upset you at any stage as we have seen in T20 cricket".
India never got away from England and barring one sloppy misfield from Plunkett it was a near-perfect display of out-cricket.
"I would like to wish everyone a very happy Republic Day and I hope they enjoy the day and keep patriotism alive in their heart", added Kohli.
"The reason why everyone is included in the squad is because we believe in them, we have faith in them".
Like Kolkata, it was a wicket where England bowlers got more purchase compared to their Indian counterparts. Suddenly, the current Indian T20 squad that is playing against England have as many as 5 players from Royal Challengers Bangalore but nobody is batting an eye. Credit to their bowlers, they bowled good hard lengths with extra pace and bounce,"said Kohli".
He said: 'They are going to be flat pitches here and they will probably bring the boundaries in, so it will be a challenge. I have seen him bat in the IPL and I know what he is capable of.
And he is expected to take the new ball in the first T20. He has the wicket-taking ability and is confident in his skills. "We've got in quite a few youngsters now who we want to groom with the senior guys in the team", Kohli said.
Captain Morgan and Root needed to steady the ship, and two of England's most important players did exactly that.
"I thought our bowlers were outstanding tonight". England in that regard are lucky to have someone like Ben Stokes, who can be very effective both with bat and ball.Stokes has a Batting Strike-rate of 143 and will be a key member of the lower middle-order, along with Eoin Morgan and Jos Buttler. Root said Morgan's big-hitting helped him settle easily.
"It did play a little bit better under lights". So with these things in mind, both the teams will put best of their effort in the first and that is the reason that the game is expected to be an entertaining one.
