NBA Gameday: Curry Vs Thomas a Reunion of Two Longtime Rivals
Mar 11 2017 by Kelly Saunders
Whatever it was, it helped the Celtics hold the Dubs to 12 points over the final 12 minutes, completely subduing Curry and keeping him scoreless for the entire period. With the Warriors down 11, Klay Thompson grabbed a defensive rebound and brought the ball up the court hell-bent on jacking up a three. The entire team shot half that (20%) from three.
The big man was brilliant, shooting over the top of Draymond Green, making precise cuts to the basket and finishing and completing some spectacular passes to find open teammates.
The Golden State Warriors are a championship caliber team for the past two seasons. We had several moments during the game where I thought we could take it from (down) six or seven to 12...
Durant has already had three foot surgeries, but didn't have to get surgery on his knee this time, so he's counting his blessings, as are the Warriors.
The San Antonio Spurs overcame a 28-point deficit last night against the Sacramento Kings, without Kawhi Leonard or LaMarcus Aldridge.
Kerr checked in by text message regularly with KD, then spoke to him by phone Tuesday once the team returned to Oakland.
Last year the C's snapped the Warriors' 54-game home win streak; this year they broke a 10-game run.
It was not an optimal start to the third quarter for Golden State. Now they face the toughest part of this grueling March stretch with back-to-back games at Minneapolis and at San Antonio. It was a different lineup out there for a little bit and we just couldn't manufacture anything really. With a roster featuring four all-stars, Golden State put its foot on the gas when it needed to, but otherwise acted like a team that knew its fate would be decided once the calendar turned to May and June. Bradley then slammed home a putback off a Thomas miss to take the fight out of the Warriors.
We have the Golden State Warriors vs Minnesota Timberwolves.
Well, maybe more like the not so bad news. Although, they have been been inconsistent for the last 4 games they have lost, it is mainly due to their prized bench who has bailed them out so many times before in the past. Durant's knee injury has drastically altered the playoff picture in the highly competitive West, as the Warriors no longer seem like locks for the Finals or even the number-one seed.
Durant played barely a minute February 28 against Washington before sustaining the injury. But to hear those three letters inside Oracle - a spot where M-V-P is reserved for players like Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant, who actually have the hardware to back up those claims - was inconceivable.
With a "Let's go Celtics" chant raining down from the Oracle Arena seats from Greenhearts who remained, the Bostonians won for the second straight season here. "So I'm OK. My spirits are good, my family is good, I'm doing what I love to do every single day so it's all right.it's a process I'm looking forward to getting through".
